Kalaia recognizes the inner beauty, potential and character of successful women who have gone before, as well as those who are to come. It is a company founded by a woman, for women and one that gives back to women. Furthermore, Kalaia combines the best wholesome, natural ingredients from mother earth with empowered female entrepreneurs to enrich people’s lives and to enhance outward natural beauty. 

Meet Our Founder/CEO

Born and raised in a small town in Sri Lanka, Gaya had a very humble upbringing. Thanks to her parents, Gaya had the opportunity to come to the United States to pursue her higher education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Utah State University and an MBA from Iowa State University. During her decade long career in the Direct Selling industry, Gaya has worked with mature billion-dollar companies to newer and smaller companies that are going through hyper growth stage both in traditional multi-level marketing and party plan structures. 

Gaya has a wide range of experience managing all aspects of a business from sales and marketing, operations, finance to international expansion. Having lived in 3 countries (Sri Lanka, Malaysia and United States); and launched and managed businesses in 5 continents, Gaya’s international experience will come in handy as Kalaia expands outside of the United States. 

Gaya and her husband have a beautiful four-year-old daughter, Maya, and a yellow lab, AJ, who is convinced that he is the baby boy of the family. They love traveling around the world and exploring different cultures. Gaya loves cooking and takes advantage of the quiet time with her family every chance she gets.
